| Yes!Get on that hair journey now! |
Hey dolls, so it's been a while since my last hair post. (Check out my previous hair post HERE). Yea, i'm still on my hair journey (CL/NL-BSL/MBL,WL??Amen!), still up on my regimen, currently 20 weeks post relaxer (4 more weeks to go!yay!) and i have on Senegalese twists as a protective style at the moment. Usually, when people have on protective styles such as box braids, Senegalese or kinky twists, they tend to neglect their own natural hair (and by natural i mean the hair growing out of your scalp) simply because they believe their hair is protected and so there is no point bugging it. Truth is, your hair requires the same TLC at every and any point in time. To care for my tresses under the twists, i moisturise my hair with either ORS Carrot Oil or ORS Incredibly Rich Oil Moisturising Hair Lotion and seal with Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
For growth, i massage my scalp with a mixture of castor oil and rosemary oil. As we all know, scalp massages trigger the circulation of blood around your head (or your scalp??lol) hence increasing your growth rate. Also, oils such as castor oil and rosemary oil basically perform the same function of increasing hair growth so massaging those into your scalp on a regular basis is a must-add to your hair routine.
I started taking 5000 mcg Biotin pills on the 9th of May. I got the Good 'N' Natural brand and i'm currently on day 40. I must confess the journey has NOT been a fun one. Breakouts???Yes!. People, especially my friends at youtube advised to take in more water as that'd help prevent your skin from breaking out. I've been consuming more water than usual but still!! No pain, no gain, right? Hopefully, my gain would eventually outweigh my pain.
